Default Help with vid card

I have a HP motherboard and i recently bought a nvidia geforce 6600GT AGP. Now it says its set at 4x as PCMark says, and my motherboard is capable of 8x. I looked in my bios and there is nothing there about changing the speed of the AGP slot from 4x to 8x. Is there a program or something i need to download or open to enable 8x?

BIOS is probably locked, since it is an OEM. If you want to change it that bad, you could flash your bios, but I wouldn't reccomend that to someone who doesn't know how to do it...

By the way, there isn't much of a difference from 4x to 8x anyway. Pretty much all graphics cards don't even utilize the full bandwidth of 8x.
