Default Geforce MX200 Problems in XP

Im using XP pro and i have installed an AGP 64mb Geforce2 mx200. I have installed it correctly, however, when the PC boots up i see garbled text on the screen (in the DOS bootup bit). when XP loads, its using XP's emergency drivers which are running at a very low resolution. I have installed the drivers from the NVidia website, however I have recently found out that the card is made by Gainward, will i have to get those drivers or does it matter?

Im using an AMD 1300 with 512 megaram on XP Pro platform! Help.....

It shouldn't matter however if your telling me that the text is garbled upon bootup, it is a sign that the card could be failing hense why it is not taking the drivers. I would replace it. You can find a videocard on newegg that surpases the mx200 for around $45-$50.
