Default freezing/buzzing

Whenever I play counterstike (old game, doens't demand performance,) my computer freezes and when i turn up my speakers, there is a buzzing or ringing noise. This doesn't always happen when I'm playing a game but sometimes when my computer is on a long time and I'm using alot of programs (firefox, aim, msn, itunes, etc) which led me to think I'm overheating. I got another fan have 2 in, one out and I bought a heatsink for my ati chipset (not the cpu)... Didn't fix the problem.

Can anybody give me ideas? I've re-seated my ram already and it does match.

Counter strike source or Counters Strike 1.6/CZ
If its Css you could get sound looping freezing.
Get speedfan and tell the temperature
