probably the system speaker. does it make the sound if you leave just the first hdd plugged in? sounds like the jumper settings may be wrong if they are IDE drives but normally it wouldn't cause an error like that. so perhaps when you swapped the hdd you knocked something like the ram, a power cable or the cpu fan
