Default Dumb Drivers (Code 37)

Hello,
I have a problem. My DVD-rom drivers are not working. The computer recognizes the hardware, but it automatically installs the wrong drivers. Because of this it doesnt read cds when i put them in. I already downloaded the drivers online but when i try to install them it doesnt find the hardware device. I am very confused. The error in the device manage is (Code 37) it does not initiate the drivers. Please help

windows should automatically find and install the drivers on its own,
try uninstalling all drivers for every drive and restart the computer. It should find default drivers for it.

BTW are you using anything like Deamon Tools, or Alcohol 120?
