Default CD rom drive help

Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to jimmy rig somthing to hook a CDrom drive up to a printer port. (I have a laptop that has no internal CDrom drive support). if it is possible, please post a link or somthing to were I can get a tutorial on doing this. Thanks in advance.

I don't think it's possible.

But you can get external CD-ROM drive enclosures...

You can get external enclosures with support USB and firewire, for Hard Drives (3.5" & 2.5") and Optical Drives (5.25").

Here's a fancy one...



You simply open it up, place the drive inside and connect the molex (power) and IDE cable to the drive.

They do require an external power source however, meaning you have power through a wall socket.
