Default CD Burner Issues...

Ok...I own a Compaq Presario 7569. (Laugh if you must...), I've recently upgraded to Win Xp, and now I can't get my Cd Burner to burn cds. It will read the cds, but it wont read blanks. You can tell it to burn and it will say no blank detected. Any help would be appreiciated...

Do you have two CD drives? Because this happens to me too, and I can only burn using one of the drives.

I have 2 drives, a Cd-Rom, and a Cd-R/RW...

I use Windows Media Player...It won't even let me add files to a blank CD...It just acts like there isn't one in there... Would the Jumper settings change from OS to OS?

Make sure the jumpers on the burner are master and the rom drive are slave. don't use media player use nero. if you dont' have nero then just right click the file you want to burt and click send to cdrw drive. you can also try this free burner software
