i doubt that it could be the cause of the problem, especially if none of th pins fell off, but as you have replaced almost every other component besides the cpu, leads me to believe that it is the only option left.

i mean, after all it is overheating, you have upgraded the cooling, and it still overheats, so whats the most logical explanation: the cpu must be dying/faulty

Not so fast. A while back I had a soundcard in my computer (I don't remember which type) and I've got an Asus mobo. When I had the drivers for that sound card installed and activated my computer would take over 5 minutes to boot up. Sound card deactivated and my computer would come up in an instant. Not saying it's your problem, but I would look into it.

ok ill look into the sound card, because my mobo came with one. ill try that and see what it does for me, but if that fails then im going to guess the CPU.

i dont think its the CD drive
