Default cannot print...no drivers working

Hi, just purchased a new computer, which has windows xp media center edition, and i have tried installing my HP Deskjet 952c printer, but it isn't working. First i tried the drivers that were built into windows, then i tried the drivers that were on the disc that came with my deskjet 952c, and finally, i went to the hp website and download the proper driver. unfortunately, none of these worked. is there something that i am missing? any help will be greatly appreciated.

Did you use the add printer wizard? If not go into control panel and select printers and faxes. When it opens select add printer on left side. And follow the instructions. Are you making the printer is Default.. Assuming you havnt already tried this.If you have contact cutomer support for Hp and see if they will help you out.
