I was given this laptop to look at. But first thing i need to reset the bios password. Keeps asking for the password. I've googled it but can't seem to find a good solution. Any ideas?

That's the prblem. The first thing that pops up is: Password=

So can't see which bios

There are generic passwords for many of the bios.I have a list of bios passwords for laptops but im not at home now. I'll be home tomorrow night i'll look them up then.

have you tried just hitting enter key sometimes there isint a password at all
my old emachines was like that

I've tried and tried and nothing. I tried left shift key at startup. The f12..nope.

I just found a rather large default password list that you can look at. it is at this site The BIOS Web: Master password listing
