Default ATI vs NVIDIA

Ok I noticed something I hadint before with my ati graphics card. all the web sites that sold or mentioned the spec's of the HIS HD 2600xt say it has a mem clock of 1920MHz but ATI over drive states that it has 930MHz mem clock, so my question is why is this like it is and if my card is infact 930MHz are NVidia's cards the same way and if not then would they be better being that they have 1900+ mem clocks on most of there newer stuff

someone please shead some light here

Memory clocks are always doubled. Hence the term DDR(Double Data Rate). It doubles the real frequency to make the transfer of data more efficient. And yes, same goes for Nvidia's memory clocks, and also computer memory clocks.

No, the numbers after the DDR are revisions and new models/technology standards of RAM. DDR1 Is still double data rate, so are DDR2 and DDR3, but 2 and 3 are improved memory standards..
