Default Apple IPOD Problem

I THINK my computer installed generic USB drivers for my Ipod, and now my computer/itunes does not recognize it........

I tried uninstalling random generic USB drivers and it still does not work.

HELP!

Did you install the ipod/itunes software? Or did you update your chipset drivers or something?

thats the updater... I will lose all of my music when i run that.. And on top of it, it is going to make the volume lower on my ipod, because of that lawsuit, the new updater will lower the maximum volume.

I ran the installer (on the CD) that came with my ipod... Thats should be all that I need software wise. But my computer just does not want to recognize it. The only thing I can think of is that maybe this has something to do with a BIOS flash I did before the reinstall, and it loaded up default BIOS settings. Because my BIOS would recognize the IPOD during the DMI pool loadup. Not anymore. I am going to check that out.
