Default AC Adapter for My Hard Drive

Hello all,

I have a HP Personal Media drive (HD1600). The problem is I lost my AC adapter and need to get a new one. I tried contacting HP and kept getting the runaround with the online support, they refused to give me the model number of the power supply saying they didn't have one for my hard drive. They did give me an internal part number (5187-6136). What I would like to know is how would I know if I could use another adapter for the drive. Here are the power specs.

PC170A, PE503A - Product Number
Hard Drive Rotation Speed 7,200 RPM
Power Adapter AC input voltage: 100240 VAC

AC input frequency: 50/60 Hz

AC input current: 1A

DC output voltage: 12 VDC

DC output current: 2A

Output connector:
Outer barrel diameter: 5.5 mm
Inner pin diameter: 2 mm

Here are some that I was looking at that may be compatible:
5187-6136 - AC-DC Power Adapter 12V/24W Output Provides External Power For The Personal Media Drive

F1044B HP Omnibook Laptop AC Adapter

Sorry for the long post, any help would be appreciated.

Default Re: AC Adapter for My Hard Drive

Just be sure to not use something with a too big Amperage, or else you'll fry up that hard drive. Apart from that, I think an hard drive use 5-15w of power, not sure, so a 24w for example, would be OK.

Keep in mind that I'm not an electrician, and I'm not 100% of this.
