|  WOOT got my comp today woot got my comp parts today ups style. could someone please point me to the most current building guide for noobs

 | Re: WOOT got my comp today step 1 ground yourself (touch the power supply if you can't do anything esle) step 2 install power supply into case step 3 install cpu into mb step 4 install heatsink onto cpu step 5 install ram onto mb step 6 mount hard drives and DVD roms step 7 install mb into case step 8 install video card step 9 connect sata cables to drives (i hope you don't have IDE) step 10 connect power to all components step 11 power up the machine and install OS throughout this process ensure you are properly grounded and in a work environment free from static electricity (should NOT be on carpet, or w/ animal fur everywhere, etc). | thanks for the speedy info guys. i think the most static free place is my kitchen table. locking the cat up(long hair) ok when EXACTLY do i put on the thermal paste?

| Re: WOOT got my comp today After you put your CPU in the board, and right before you mount your HSF, put a thin line in the middle so it spreads evenly

| Re: WOOT got my comp today ok got it together but have a problem it wont boot from cd heres what it says DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER when i try to go to bios it freezes afetr a minute or so xigmatek 650 psu nxzt tempest case xigmatek 1238 rifle q6600 dfi x38 mobo 2 gig ram 2X visiontek 4850 samsung dvd burner seagate 500 gig hd
