wow they got it to 3.6 w/AF7, i dont think thats much better than qx6850...

Its about what i expected...not a huge performance gain. Looks like 5-15% in most cases. Think i might wait a while with my Q6600...

If you have a q6600, as ive been saying all along, there is not reason to replace it with a penryn. I'm going to wait until nehalem gets a die shrink to 32nm and the boards/ddr3 are mature.

I've got a quick question.

Has anyoen heard if the QX6850 will drop in price any when the QX9650 is released for sale? Since the 9650 is only around $1k. And the 6850 is the same >.> 1100$ at ncix -.-.

If it drops to 7-800 ish I might consider getting one later on XD

gotcha XD I won't bother with it then.

I just find it odd that the older chips will be the same price as the new one. Intel shooting itself in the foot again imo

Nah look at what happened with the old xx00's when the xx20's and xx50s came out. The newer faster cpus were cheaper than the old ones.

if anyone remembers.. the penryn ES on xs have been hitting 4.0+ on air ..... these reviews never seem to try to oc to incredible lengths...
