well. if u plan to overclock, get the 3600x2 brisbane, not windsor. i think a thermal compound comes with the artic freezer pro, but i am not sure, everything else looks good, excepet, i would say get a stick of 1gb rather than 2x512, becuase, u might wanna add one more gig later to run dual channel. but thats fine too if u think u wont need more than 1 gb later

wait till more experienced people post a reply, i'm still a noob

I always have floppy drives no matter what, cuz i still have my old DOS games like quake and doom and doom II from when i was like 5. Also, the mobo has 4 slots for ram, so im getting 2x512 dual channel now, and in the future another 2x512 dual channel to bring it up to 2gb. x1950xt arents DX10 man, im sticking with the 8600gt.

Um....Dx10 or not the X1950XT will TRASH the 8600GT. I mean it's not even a comparison really. Do you really thing that the 8600GT will handle Dx10 games very well at all? The 8800 has a hard enough time as it is...the 8600GTS is a better choice but still not as powerful as the X1950Xt. The Dx10 features in games wont matter if you are getting 40 FPS on medium settings while the X1950Xt is getting 40-50 in High.

40 isn't a lot either so you will be going into low-medium settings to keep most DX10 games above 50.

3600+, 2 x 1 GB, x1950 pro

8600gt is a terrible buy at $150

dont want to get 2 x 512 MB now and get the other 2 sticks later cuz then you will suffer from performance hit because your ram is running 2T

get the freezer pro from svc.com if you want to save a few bucks
