Default Wanting to build new machine but have no ideas

Hey all

im wanting to build a new computer mainly designed for games.

already i have a nVidia GeForce 7600 GS, a couple of DVD burners and a K-mex Pw 450 PSU and some cards that i want to keep.

I want to get a new Motherboard and CPU but have no idea where to start.

Also need to know what is required with a new motherboard etc etc.

Also a cool new case!!

Any Ideas??

my limit isnt to high but $1000 Australian would be stretching my limit

Sounds like you're looking for a motherboard, processor, and RAM. You'll also need a hard drive if you don't have one. Head on over to b1gapl's Recommended PC Components thread and see if you can find anything you like.

I personally recommend an Intel processor with a motherboard that uses the P35 chipset.

Your best way to get prices is find a site that ships to Australia and just look them up there.

I don't know of anything about Australian currency or sites to shop that ship there.

Any ATX case will fit an ATX mobo... micro ATX cases will not fit an ATX mobo.
