thinking of getting this system

i'm thinking of buying this system any advice or critism would be much appreciated:

CPU
AMD® ATHLON® 64BIT 4000 (San Diago) 1MB L2 Cache (939 pin)

Memory
1024 MB DDR400 PC3200

Motherboard
ASUS® A8N-E: DUAL DDR, S-ATA, x16 slot, 3 PCI etc

Hard Drive
SATA 80 GB HARD DISK @ 7200rpm 8mb cache

Graphics Card 1
512MB GEFORCE 7900GTX PCI Express + DVI + TV-OUT

Downgrade the eVGA to 7900 GT KO

Get a dual core proc or better yet wait for conroe and pick up the 2.0GHz model. It will blow you away.

For a system with a gfx card and cpu like that, i'd get 2gb of ram

Save some money, get a 3700+ or an X2 3800+, 2 gigs of RAM(preferably overclocking ram), bigger hard drive, a 7900gt like LordAntrax said and probably a lot more with what you have left

That system if just fine, but i highly recommend getting 2GB of ram, instead of just one.

Also if you dont mind waiting a little while longer the Intel Core 2 Duo(Conroe), is coming out fairly soon, and that will put a beating on that 4000+.

ok so from your suggestions i have come up with this, does it sound better, i have also gone for the SLI not to set off an argument just as an idea:

dont get bthe 4200 get the 3800 and OC it, or the 4400 as it has moe cache, but id still waite for conroe, and the g80
