|  Re: Thermal Paste? Its a thermnal compound between the processor and heatsink. Yes you need it. you draw a thin line across the processor and squas the heatsink down on it. The best is MX-2.

 | Re: Thermal Paste? Thermal paste is a thermal compound used to assist the transfer of heat from the CPU to the heatsink. It fills in the microscopic gaps between the CPU and the heatsink so heat can flow more easily. You put a pea-size bit on the CPU then secure the heatsink over it. It is a NECESSITY, no if's or but's.
