Default a super newb question

i might get dogged for this question but ol well..
a geforce 8600gt would be a significant upgrade to a geforce 6800gt right?

yes... but an x1950pro performs better and its around the same price on an 8600gt

8600gt is surely worth the upgrade. You should go in for it. 8800 is the best but nevermind.

X1950PRO is the way to go bro.

Or consider the HD3850 if you want something a little better for cheap.

^ thats a good consideration as well... but the problem is... even tho its MSRP is $160.00 ish... but its gonna be a bit more than that... and i don't think his budget is taht high..

Yeah, newegg has a few 8600gt's right around $100 thats why i was so interested in it.
