Question Simple Question about 4gb RAM

I have 2gb of ram right now. But I want to buy another 2gb to make it 4gb total (the prices are stupid, I paid double for 2gb's 2-3 months ago).

My question is... will it help with performance with Windows XP Professional SP2?

I heard the max it reads is 2.5gb's or something and that the other 1.5gb's are used for virtual memory. Will the extra 2gb's help with loading times when playing Crysis?

32bit version of Windows will read 3gb but not the full 4.

It's just not seen. That's all.

The extra 2GB won't help much. Loading screens depend more on the speed of your hard drive. The extra might come in handy, if you were playing at a high resolution. Or multi-tasking like crazy, while playing.

Just did a little research and figured it's not worth putting in another 2gb's.

One last question tho... would Linux be able to see all 4gb's?

If it's 32bit, no. If 64bit, yes.

2gb is more than enough for XP, but when switching to vista, 4gb is the way to go.
