Default RV670 is Radeon HD 3800 Series

VR-Zone : Technology Beats - RV670 is Radeon HD 3800 Series

Quote:
VR-Zone has learned that the official marketing name for RV670 will be Radeon HD 3800 series. Previously, they are known as Radeon HD 2950 series. Interestingly, one of the AIB partners has even listed out Radeon HD 3800 on their website. Earlier, AMD has made changes to the naming of the Phenom processors and now the changes are being made to the graphics cards too. As such, AMD has decided to drop PRO, XT, GT, XTX from their future HD 3000 series graphics series and the last 2 digits of the series will determine the performance of the card. RV670PRO will be known as Radeon HD 3850 while RV670XT will be know as Radeon HD 3870 when they are launched on Nov 15th.

Cool. When they come out I can upgrade. I have a thing about skipping generations when upgrading. Geforce 4mx to Radeon 9800 to radeon x1800 to new 3 series or 9 series. I of course base that on nothing but trying to prevent myself from spending money aimlessly.

It will be GDDR 3 and 4 (depending on the model) Why would they use GDDR5 when GDDR4 isnt even widely used yet?
