Default QCore < ~$600?

So, does anybody have any idea what combo I should use to build a decent Q6600 system for under $600? Is it possible?

I need Mobo, cheap case (pref full tower), heatsink, HD, RAM, PSU, and CPU.

If my 400w PSU will be alright until I can upgrade, that knocks one thing off the list. I'm just going to re-use my 7950GTX until I can get an 8800.

Thanks.

Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor - OEM
$260
OR
parting out
Q6600 - $240

Newegg.com - Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 (Perpendicular Recording) ST3250620AS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
$64.99

Choice 1
Newegg.com - Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail
$80 - $55 MIR
Choice 2
Newegg.com - G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail
$47

Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
$103
OR
ClubIT Product - GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L Rev. 2.0 LGA775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard Retail
$91.53

parting out
CPU-Cooler $25 Nukem

So far =
$533 Choice 1 (508 MIR)
$500 Choice 2
(or less, cause NewEgg Combines shipping)
(#2 from egg was like $472 for me shipped)

and then it depends on what you want
use old PSU and get a nice case that you want
or split the rest of money on PSU and a cheap case <= recommended

then again, you can shop around and shave a few bucks here and there
or if you want downgrade HDD/RAM to CHEAP DDR2 667 but $47 bucks shipped ddr2 800 is hard to beat

As long as PayPal was good, I doubt it would be a problem.

Heatsink: $44.99
Newegg.com - Tuniq Tower 120 P4 & K8 CPU Cooler - Retail

How does that PSU look? Also, I just have a cheap little mini tower. What are the odds that I can fit that PSU in a top-mount AND fit the Tuniq 120 in there? :/

I don't think the 120 would fit inside a mini tower @,@
if you do have paypal, I'd say get that Q6600 from Nukem
PSU? for that price I guess you can't complain

I am PayPal verified, but is buying a used, CPU that's been clocked wise? Also, is there any reason why I can't mount my PSU outside of the case? Lower ambient temps and probably room for the 120, or is it actually too tall to fit between the sides?

Also, Newegg.com - RAIDMAX KATANA ATX-729FB Black SECC Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Retail the price up quite a bit, but looks like a decent alternative if all else fails.

he used it for one month, a CPU's life span is way longer than that
I still have my P4 from like 5 years ago... up and running like a champ

I am just saying... 240 is a great deal, IF I had the money for upgrade, I'd be all over that, wouldn't have mentioned it to you

PSU: I don't see why not

Case: it's personal preference, get one that you like or that you can afford
