Exclamation PCI-E Video Card Question?

I want to update my video card, I have a Dell Dimension E521 which has a PCI-E x16 slot. I want to get the highest PCI Express card out to date. When I browse the cards a lot of them have DDR3, Does that mean I have to have DDR3 memory for it to function, becuase my system has DDR2 memory. Thanks

DDR2 and DDR3 Are RAMS

GDDR3 Is the latest graphics card which I think is faster than GDDR2..

How the best videocards now are proberly in this order from best to worst : 8800Ultra, 8800GTX, x2900XT, 8800GTS. You got DDR2 memory but it won't matter the videocards will work. The videocard best for your money if you got unlimited is proberly is 8800GTX. If you wanna spend at least as possible go for the 8800GTS 320MB which is $300 but it can still run a ton of games with high settings and good resolutions. x2900XT 512mb fits between the 2 videocards, for the ATI fanboy or your just in that price range of $400 and with a HDMI slot for your HDTV.

Your also gonna need a better power supply for these high power videocards.

oh in that case, the best card for your money is proberly the x1950XT.
Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100186L Radeon X1950XT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 VIVO HDCP Video Card - Retail

Powerful card and under $200. It won't be DX10 but DX10 games will take awhile to come out.

If you got some extra money to squeeze, get the 8800GTS 320mb.
Newegg.com - EVGA 320-P2-N811-AR GeForce 8800GTS 320MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card - Retail

Its slightly stronger with DX10 support. Thats were you put ur extra $50.
