Default Re: PCI-E SATA Controller suggestions?

I would be going with an Adaptec Raid Controller. I got a RAID1 on my system as 1Tb of data is just too much to loose in one hit.

Can you explain a little why you think I should be going with Adaptec? I'm not sure I'm understanding your point.

Adaptec is a brand that I trust. They are a very well supported card. When it comes down to Adaptec, the only products they do are various hard drive and RAID controllers for the last 26 years.

The other thing that i like about them is the RAID Management software. For example, on my system, I can do a rebuild or a verify on my RAID drives and still access the data on the drives at the same time.
All the other card I have come accross will not allow you to do that.

I do like the reporting abilities too. The Raid software that comes with the card will email me if there is a problem.
