Default Ok.. three questions.. one post.. :D

Ich- How does two SLI 8800GTX's stand up to one 9800GX2?

Ni- Would a 700w FSP psu with 60amps on 4 +12v rails work out for this?

San- When is the 9800GTX coming out?

Basiclly should I get the 9800GX2, should I get a second 8800GTX with the price being down, or should I wait for the next 9 series card?

Why do u want to get a GTX? There are other cards in SLI that almost have the same performance as a 9800GX2

9800GX2 is 2 8800GTS in 1 GPU i think

he already has 1 8800gtx, believe me I know PanzerKammander, from here before

but the 9800gx2 = 2 8800gts g92, so I think you'd be a little behind or a little ahead depending on the situation, but that x2 5600+ is going to bottleneck you (assuming you still have it)

Hey vernong, long time no see.

Yea I know the cpu is going to be a bottleneck, but I'm probably going to upgrade that over the summer sometime.

Newegg has 8800GTX's for 340... 290 if you count the rebate. I can't see how I can go wrong, even if I am not getting max power out of the second GTX.

go for it man

I think its even cheaper on eBay, but Nosboost has mentioned countless times about 8800Ultra's for $350ish on eBay, maybe sell of your 8800gtx and get two of those, or get two 8800gts g92?

Not a fan of ebay, really. lol Thanks for the reply, I suppose at this point.. 300 vs 600 is much better of an option.. considering the performance would be on par with that of the 9800GX2.

My case is going to melt, three hard drivers (two raptors), two 8800GTX..

they are not bad. but for 340, you could sli two 9600gt's and get near gx2 performance.. and I am not sure(have not seen any benches, but beat out two 880gtx's?) and then you could sell your gtx and make money on the deal.

EDIT- I just saw what you posted, and if you want something on par with the gx2, then go for 9600gt's! and sell your gtx, either on here, or craigslist or something. Then you can afford to get a new cpu.

what mobo do you have?
