Nukem will become famous soon enough

Default need an opinion

My new xmas build's got a snag... Since I didn't read the fine print and saw that the budget mobo I bought will not support Core 2Duo (Core Duo yes, but not C2D) I need some help in a new board...

I have 200.00 to include shipping... I have:

8800GTS, E6300, Zalman 9500, 2x1GB DDR2-667, and 3 Raptors for a gaming build.

Which one would you say:

ABIT AW9D

Gigabyte GA-965G-DS3

MSI 975X plat V.2

I'm leaning towards the Abit, cause it doesn't have all the extra stuff I don't use on the back, and it's simple in design.

Please give some advice as I want to order by weeks end at most, if not tomorrow.

Personally, I know this isnt about the motherboard. But I would drop one of those raptor drives and get 800mhz ram.

I dont know, lots of people say the ds3 is one of the better oci'ing boards in that price range.

The gigabyte is the best ocing board out of those mobos. I would get the p5b-deluxe/wifi though which is only a couple of dollars over your budget after shipping.

thanks, but I already have all the parts except the mobo... so the mobo is the ONLY issue.. and I only have 200.00 to work with... no more. So I'm working with what I have, and what I can afford.

If you're going to get the DS3, get the 965P http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128012 not the 965G. The G has onboard video which obviously is unnecessary since you're getting a nice GPU, also the 965P overclocks better than the G(or so I've heard) A reason the DS3 can overclock well is because the capacitors are meant to take on extra loads.
