Default My friends keeps telling me AMD X2 is faster than Core 2

Is it true? Is AMD's X2 is faster than Intel's Core 2 Duo?

I can see that the frequency is higher but after reading all test and everything, it seems to me that Intel's Core 2 Duo's are faster beating even the AMD's FX Processor.

List of sites benchmarking results

Intel Core 2 Duo Vs. AMD AM2 Review on ExtremeTech
AnandTech: Intel's Core 2 Extreme & Core 2 Duo: The Empire Strikes Back

So which one is better? I could list more sites that states Intel's Core 2 Duos are faster than AMD's.
