| Ultra Techie | It would be worth getting another 2 gig of ram IMO. Possibly getting two 2 gig sticks instead of 4 one gig sticks. Also you are purchasing a motherboard w/ 1000 mhz FSB, but only purchasing RAM that has 533, I would suggest purchasing higher quality ram. Your RAM will be struggling to keep up w/ your processor and MB. |

PSU- Raidmax are lame with PSU's I recommend using a little bit of the headroom left in your budget to get a Corsair 450vx Newegg.com - BIOSTAR TA770 A2+ AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards Unless you're dead-set on having an SLI board.. this is more future proof Newegg.com - AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Brisbane 2.6GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Black Edition Processor - Processors - Desktops Consider that highly overclock varient, however you need a good cooler like the Newegg.com - Rosewill RCX-Z940-LX 92mm Ball CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks Newegg.com - ECS N8800GT-512MX+ GeForce 8800 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards get the cheapest 8800gt 512mb of Newegg and save some cash ![]() then use the extra cash to get some better RAM! Newegg.com - Patriot Extreme Performance 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory 4gb and good timings Quote:

| System Builder/NZXT Deals | If you go the 4GB route, you'll have to get XP Pro 64-bit. I don't believe they ever made a Home edition that was 64-bit.
