Default how much should i spend?

I was just wondering what you guys think is a good price range for a nice gaming rig. I probably plan on using newegg to get the parts. But I just need an idea on how much money is really needed for a good gaming comp.

but u can get a decent rig for around 1500-2000

The person said a good gaming computer, 1500 should do it, 1000 is a little short ended when you need a system with a decent monitor and an operating system.
