Hey, my friend came to me to help him with a build for christmas and this is what we have put together so far:

cpu: core 2 duo e6750
Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail

mobo: do not know but we just want something solid that will work

PSU: Corsair 520 watt

For the mobo you could try the p35-ds3r or the abit ip35

is there a general budget? and for 120$ you can get a 600w silver stone modular with quad 12v rails.

well the RAM is 5-5-5
i always like to recommend 4-4-4
