[SPL Tech]

I am looking for suggestions on what to get for my next comp. It will be used for gaming / multimedia and I will be overclocking it.

What I don't need:

-Peripherals (including monitor)
-Operating System (I will use XP Home)
-Hard drives (I will use the new VelociRaptor as my primary drive and a Seagate 7200.10 for my secondary drive)
-GPU's (I will use two Evga 8800GTS G92's in SLI)

What I do need:

-RAM
-CPU (Core Two Duo / Quad / Extreme)
-Case (I think I would like to try an acrylic case)
-PSU
-Cooling (I think liquid cooling for at least the CPU and northbridge would be a good option if the budget favors it).
-Optical and floppy drive (I dont need a Blue-Ray writer / reader)
-Anything else that I may be forgetting?

Requirements:

The motherboard must have at least two PCI-e x16 2.0 slots so I can run my cards in SLI.

Budget: Approximately $1,500 I prefer to buy from NewEgg because they have good shipping charges to Hawaii.

^^ That build looks good. The only thing I would change is the psu. A Corsair 650tx will provide more than enough power for your system and is cheaper.

Surprisingly its cheaper than a Corsair 520hx

Whats your guy's take on the E6400? It can be overclocked further then the Q6600 or Q9650. Some say that thats a good thing when it comes to gaming because games cant take advantage of four cores. I dont do any multi-tasking so it wont help me there.

Also what do you think about:

Is it worth the extra money to go with the Corsair or not really?

The ReaperX is better memory, and MUCH cheaper. As for the E6400...the g0 q6600 chips clock higher on average than the E6400s....not to mention having twice the cores.

Q6600 can overclock to 3.6Ghz with an aftermarket cooler and it provide future proof and games are starting to use 4 cores
