| New Netflix Subscriber! | Just go for the 650MHz clocked 9600GT's. They are only $150, and I believe some have $25 MIR to make it only $125. THAT makes it a much more affordable and better choice than an 8800GT 512MB. This one's $140 (115 after rebate) with a stock 650MHz clock: Newegg.com - ECS N9600GT-512MX EDM GeForce 9600GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards Try and find me an 8800GT 512MB even remotely close to $115 that would beat a 9600GT.

| Master Techie | a 8800gt will give you better gameplay for crysis soley. but doesnt sound like your big on gaming so you might be better opting for the cheaper choice. the nine series is really just 8 series gpu's at different clocks and newer revisions. nothing big has been done to the architecture besides the 65nm conversion, ive heard this quote before and i agree. its been a couple of years and we have made no progress as far as video cards performance is concerned. the only good thing about the nine series is that it is substantially lower priced than the whole 8 series was. but then again its like paying for old hardware anyway. |

Huh? 8800gt is g92. No 9600gt, no matter how highly oc'd, can beat an 8800gt...come close but not beat.

Anyway, if you can afford it, grab the 8800GT...it's more of a futureproof card than the 9600GT. | |

| Techalicious | Do you know the brand of your power supply? If it is insufficient for any video card upgrades then you could just get the 8800gs+ a psu which would probably come out cheaper than buying a 9600gt or 8800gt and you would get similar performance. -8800gs is a good card. |
