Default hard drive problem...

I just got a asus p5b mobo and two seagate SATA II 320 gigs models, and one of them is not being detected. I have one plugged in a master/boot sata data connection and the other to a slave connection on the mobo.

There are quite a bit of options to fiddle around with the sata devices in the bios, and the manual is not very helpful.

I think I want to do a raid with the two identical drives, but I am not sure. Should I just run the drives in IDE mode? And what should I do if the other drive is not detected in doing so?
