| Hey guys, As you can tell from the title my HDD (250gb Seagate), [crapped out] the other day. So what I'm thinking of doing is getting the following: 1) Wester Digital Raptor 37gb (10,000rpm) to but the OS (Vista Ultimate) off. 2) Seagate 500gb SATA2 for everything else. Do you think this would be a good set-up or are there any other recommendations? Cheers.

| Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - Internal Hard Drives No Raptors and no Seagate recommendations from me. Get that and you will be happy, and save money.

| Don't get a Seagate. They suck. Most people recommending Seagate 7200.11 have never owned one. If you buy the 750GB Seagate you will be sorry, and their tech support just laughs in your face. I have never had a Seagate drive that worked properly.

| Super Techie | I try to stick with Seagate and Western Digital. They are the 2 best known hard drive manufacturers and have decent prices.

| but the whole point is that i want to seperate my OS from the actual program files on my computer. So you guys think that I should just not bother with a raptor and just get two normal SATA 2 drives? If so what capacity for the one storing the OS (Vista Ultimate) Cheers.

| Super Techie | Why don't you just buy something that's like, 640GB, and partition it for your OS?
