9800gt is 8800gt with tri sli capability

Oh, never realised that. So if I was to upgrade my 8600gt to a 9800gt it would perfrom exactly like an 8800gt?

Unless you get the die shrinked 8800gt's. But you won't know you have one until you get it. Isn't Nvidia great?

The 3870x2/Ultra/4850 thing can be flopped either which way. I think atm the 4850 slightly outperforms them in games. The 3870x2 defiantly takes the cake for 3dmark06. And I think the Ultra falls somewhere in between.
