| Hi, I found this deal, could anyone tell me if they know if this deal is any good, the cons and pros etc, or if you know of a better deal for around the $1000 price range. This is what I found, any comments? | up, up, down, down | I don't know how much it goes for in austrailia, but you can get better for the money.

| not a good deal but its average, you could do better.

| As always, you can do way better building one yourself. I'm not exactly sure of the value in American $$, but I wouldn't pay that much. I wouldn't buy anything AMD, to be honest XD. Shop around a little more. If you like the pre-built side, look into some bare bones (I don't know any of the good AU merchants). Otherwise, research research and research some more to build your own rig. EDIT: At around that price, you could afford a laptop with the same amount of power in it. I've recently gotten into ASUS' G Series laptops, you may want to take a peek if you're interested.

| Thanks for the replys, I had a look around and someone recommended this: CPU: Intel E8400 $269 Mobo: Gigabyte P35-DS3 $131 RAM: 2x1GB 800 A-DATA $62 HDD: WD SATA 500GB $132 Vid Card: Generic 512MB 8800 GT $289 DVD-RW: Asus 1814 BLT SATA $42 Case + PSU: Coolermaster CAC-T05 (w/ 460W) $108 Keyboard + Mouse: Logitech Deluxe 250 $15 and Internet 350 $23 Total: $1071 What are your thoughts? | Renowned Budgeting Master | The second build is better mainly becuase it has a P35 board however the ram is quite slow.

| up, up, down, down | I would take the second one cause of the board and quad. I could careless about 4ghz clocks, I'll take an extra two cores. Can you substitute items, like the psu and ram? I would change those over.
