Default Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 sound problems

Hi everyone.

I just put together a new conroe build (E6400). Everything works perfectly fine but my sound is too quiet. I have two old speakers that worked just fine with my old old computer and the speakers are plugged into the red port on the back.
I installed both Microsoft UAA Bus friver for High Definition Audio and The Realtek Audio Codec driver. Besically I think I tried everything. I've red bunch of forums and followed all the directions and nothing.
Could it be that I might have a defective motherboard? Do you think I should just get a replacement or just get a cheap sound card?
I've been sitting on this problem for two days now and to be honest I'm getting a little ****ed off.

Thanks for all your help.
