GF 9600Gt vs 8800Gt

Hi

PLanning to upgrade my graphic card. want to know why 9600GT is cheaper than 8800GT?

It performs worse (only a little bit though)

but in SLI 9600gt SLI beats 8800gt SLI

Yup, the 8800gt is better than 9600gt in single card.

Yes, the 9600GT is cheaper. It performs slightly less than the 8800GT, but is much cheaper, and you can find good core clock speed 9600GT's that will almost match the 8800GT in terms of performance and cost nearly $30-50 less.

And yes, the 8800gt is slightly better.

8800gt>9600gt
2x9600gt>2x8800gt

If you oc the 9600gt you can get the same performance as the 8800gt out of it and still have the great sli scaling...

9600GT in SLI even beats out an Ultra in some games. I got over 18k in 3DMark06 with those bad boys.

well its cos the 9600gt actually works prop in sli mode...unlike the previous nvidia cards.

2 9600gt's sli are just short of a 9800gx2 so obviously they would beat out an ultra in every game, not some...
