Should I get Windows Xp with my new build or Vista?

8800 is DX10, only Vista has it.

yeah but he asked if its ok without vista, and the answer to that is yes.
He can easily buy vista later on when all the issues have been sorted out, and we all know thats not going to be any time soon!

Thats what I was planning on doing. I just needed to know that if by me getting XP and not Vista, I would have a preformance drop or anything by not having Vista and playing DX9 games or not
