whsts the difrence between a 7800gtx and a gt7800

also is it beter to just get 2gbs of memory or 2X1gb

7800gtx is "better" than the 7800gt but the 7800gt is much better value for money but the performance and reliability all depend on the manufactureri recommend the 7800gt as it is loads cheaper and you can get factory OCed cards which nearly match the speeds of the 7800gtx

Isn't 7800 GT same as a GTX except with locked pipelines just like the 6200 to the 6600? So itd be reasonable to buy the 7800 GT instead

pretty much, but nvidia is getting smarter about this locking pipelines and stuff
