Default Futureproof Memory?

What set of 1GB sticks would you get that would offer the best solution for future upgrades, but will be compatable with my A8N-sli deluxe mobo. I know they will auto downclock to pc-3200, but which set will be great for this board, then work at higher speeds when I upgrade to my new board later this year??

Wait for DDR2, DDR isn't exactly going to be phased out, but there won't be any new hardware to take advantage of it.

That said, no such thing as Future-proof memory. Its cheap enough as it is. 1GB is all most people need, and you can get one of those for $75.

DDR isn't mix and match. The highest DDR is going to run on stock machines is PC3200. You can overclock your s939 setup, and having higher clocked memory can help with that. DDR2 is used for current Intel builds and will be used for AMD's socket AM2. Buy the ram for the computer you need. Simple as that.
