ok. there r plenty of "usb to ps/2" adapters but not much of "ps/2 to usb" adapter...
and i came up w a couple of solutions:

1. get a ps/2 key board. hey its cheap..
LITE-ON SK-1788/BS 2-Tone 104 Normal Keys PS/2 Wired Standard Keyboard - $5.25
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16823107120

2. get a "usb to ps/2" adapter.
LINKSKEY LKV-PUC01 Adapter for USB Keyboard & Mouse - $69.99 (woot!?)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812147402
Cables Unlimited ADP-5200 Adapter USB F to PS2 M - $4.99 (whew...)
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...0387&CatId=469

3. get a w/e usb mouse comes w/ "usb to ps/2" adapter.
KEYBOARD-2000 HJ3003/ 50UP 3 Buttons 1x Wheel USB,PS/2 Optical Mouse - $5.50
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowIm...e%20-%20Retail

4. search under the couch, desk, carpet, bed and bathroom.

i certainly wanna avoid #4.
