Default which do i get?

ok so my shopping cart is looking like either one of these.

1-antec 1200-159.05
1-gtx 280 -549.99
1-crucial balistix ddr2 800 2x1gb 54.99
1 heavy duty shipping box 5.99

after SaH + the gst taxe
comes to $854.25
CAD
at 1280x1024 with duel monitors im thinkign one gtx280 will be better then 2 260, especially since itl cost me the price of this entire cart for just 2 260's. also i need to get a new water set up, i figuredt eh 1200 would be good, i was gonna get the nzxt tempest from surgevel btu tis gonna cost me as much as the 1200 after shipping so i figured i might aswell go full tower.

p.s. no ati recomendations please. i was told to buy a 750iftw when i had a x38 i did so now looks like you guys kinda screwed me on that one as everyone is looking into x38/x48 and hd4870.

Sorry about that, mate. The rates for shipping to Canada suck! Especially for as close to the US as you are... oh well, I tried.

Default Re: which do i get?

tis ok, im looking at reveiws right now tho, and wrd around these forusm hasnt been quite strait so far in lost planet and company of heroes the gtx260 is stoping a single 4870, and the crossfire 4870 are just slightly better then one gtx280., il post up with an edit once im done reading reveiws.

the only games i saw the gtx260 fall behind the 4870 was crysis and that was by 1fps.
so should i sli gtx260 or should i go with one gtx280, and keep myduel monitopr set up.

What size are your monitors?

Do you keep them on Duplicate? or stretch?

i have my monitors in duel veiw, and yes i do plan on upgrading monitors some time soon, im looking at this oen actually only 22 inch but i like it alot.
NCIX.com - Buy Samsung T220 22IN Widescreen LCD Monitor 1680X1050 2MS 20000:1 VGA DVI-D HDCP - LS22TWHSUV/ZA In Canada.
or this
NCIX.com - Buy Samsung T220HD 22IN Widescreen LCD Monitor 1680X1050 2MS 10000:1 VGA DVI-D HDMI Component TV Tuner - LS22TDNSUV/ZA In Canada. im leaning towardst he one with a tv tunner, im sure 10000:1 contrast is enough lol.
i think i also just figured out a way to mod my case to fit a 240 rad. i can take out my hard drive cage aswell as my floppy cage, and put my rad there, itl also allow space for a pump, qucick question can anyone find me an adapter to put my hdd in a 5.25 drive. so i wouldnt need the 1200, i do love my apollo.

i can get a wicked water cooling loop for my cpu with the gtx280, the crucial ram, and my current case for 870 including shipping and handeling.

the nvidia cards are still better but when u compare the price to performance, u see nvidia fall behind ati. the gtx280 is a great card its just that its expensive. id get one 280 instead of two 260.

If your not going with ati then i reckon 2x 260

The price on Ncix for the 280, you can get 1 and a half 260's, so why not go with it

get a single 4870. its the best single card for the price, it offeres about the same performance as a gtx 280 and is cheaper. unless u wait for the 4870x2.

why no ati? they are offering the best cards atm. otherwise go with a 9800gx2, even tho its dual gpu it still is much cheaper and give you good performance. people dont even get x38/48's anymore mostly the new p45 chipset which is a great overclocker.
