| Commander SMod | ![]() There are a few unnecessary things in this lists, that can save you money, and spend it elsewhere. First, the power supply. An 850W power supply is highly unncessary. I would suggest either the Corsair 520 or 620HX. You do no need two graphic cards, when one graphic card will crush them. Like the 8800GTS 320mb. Motherboard. I would suggest the EVGA 590 chipset motherboard, because it's one of the better AM2 motherboards, out there. Why does your friend want 4GB of RAM? Does he edit videos and movies? Graphic design or rendering? If not, theres no need, and 2GB is all you need. And I would suggest Crucial Ballistix, as they are the best for the money, right now. Here are the parts, I suggested: Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-520HX ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 520W Power Supply 100 - 240 V UL, CUL, CE, CB, FCC Class B, TUV, CCC, C-tick - Retail or Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-620HX ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 620W Power Supply 100 - 240 V UL, CUL, CE, CB, FCC Class B, TUV, CCC, C-tick - Retail Newegg.com - EVGA 122-M2-NF59-TR Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail Newegg.com - Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail Newegg.com - EVGA 320-P2-N811-AR GeForce 8800GTS 320MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

| He wanted a good Crossfire. What good ATI cards should i suggest since he wants almost top of the line. he is willing to spend $800 on the Xfire. He does Some Video Rendering but also loves to play games. Last edited by ZorrosRage; 08-14-2007 at 07:47 PM. |

| Commander SMod | That is pretty stupid, I'm sorry to say, because in a few months time, there will be a better card. If he's willing to spend that much, I'd suggest an 8800GTX. Crossfire or SLI, doesn't justify spending 100% more, for just a 30-40% increase in performance. That just isn't a good trade-off. If he wants ATI, then the HD 2900XT. |

| One dumb Techie | Don't go with either CrossFire or SLi. You'll be blowing up your money. Get that 8800GTS 320mb and you're set.

| One dumb Techie | Is he sitting next to you while you are typing this? Seriously, 1 card will outperform any SLi or Crossfire once you overclock it.
