Red face Asus 8800GT 1gig

I just bought this card new for $239 on Ebay. I bought it to replace my older 8800gts 320mb cards in SLi. Go ahead and say it....I gained nothing. I couldn't resist...I presume the 1 gig of memory is little more than a gimmic, right? BTW......the Zalman fan was worth the whole purchase.

Yeah you're right, the 1gb is just a marketing gimmick. There's no way a 256bit memory interface is able to efficiently deal with that much memory.

But regardless, that's still not a bad price for the card.
