Sorry everyone, that was my mistake, I did mean the X1950Pro, and from what I have seen in Tom's benchmarking, the 7950gt does outperform the x1950Pro, but usually by about 0.5-5 fps. Now the question is is that really worth it for a Athlon 64 3200+?

Yeah, it is always worth it.

I have a 7800GTX with a 3200+, and it is definitely worth it.

the x1950xt does actually beat the 8800s in a lot of comparisons, mainly due to poor driver support for the 8 series and driver optimisations for ATI.

This is true^^ i remember seeing benchies for the two when the 800 was released....all in all, 8800series is DX10 and the ATI is not.
