I guess they make those requirements based off the assumption that some people are dumb and buy crap psu's. That makes sense though.

Anyway, good to know my psu can handle another 285 though from the looks of that review. I assume the consumption is somewhat close to the 280. I'll probably grab another when its down to $100-$150. Closer to $100 I'm thinking. I don't think they're going to be any games coming out that are going to hit that hard for another good 2-3 years.

Yeah psu requirements listed by manufacturers are always higher than what is actually required. They don't know what else will be in the computer or the quality of the psu so they say you need more power than you do.

I wouldn't go with a Phenom 1 they weren't that great. A phenom II or C2Q is where its at but finding a cheap C2Q and mobo isn't easy.

Heres a Phenom II X4 940 and Biostar TA790GXB for $208 shipped (use coupon code MBSALE10 )
Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!

Though I don't know how good that motherboard is. I would think its pretty good though.

No no no no to the old Phenom. No. No.

That deal you have there Dario is pretty awesome, actually. It will put him at almost the same as with that 9950.

EDIT: I really hope he didn't already order...

If he catches it before it ships out he can cancel it. I've done it before.
