| $1300-$1400 gaming rig build help Hi all,
I want to build a new computer, but I've become totally out of the loop as far as hardware goes, so I'm having trouble deciding which parts to get. Any help would be great!
Some details:
Use: Mostly gaming. Ideally the system would last a few years, and is capable of being upgraded fairly easily when I need to.
Budget: $1300-$1400, including decent speakers & vista (not sure of which version to get though). Budget does not include monitor, mouse, keyboard, which I will be getting separately. The monitor will likely be 19-22".
Brand preference: I do not have any brand preferences like intel, amd, nvidia, ati.
Overclocking: I don't plan to overclock the system.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. |

| Re: $1300-$1400 gaming rig build help Q6600 (I'm going to make you push this to 3.0ghz because its recommended for all future games, and all you need to do is move the FSB from 266 to 333, I know you don't want to but its safe)
8800gts g92 or wait for HD4870 or GTX 290 (or if you have a 24'' or bigger monitor get dual 9600gt's in SLI Mode)
Arctic Freezer Pro 7 ( I don't recommend stock cooler even if you are at stock)
Corsair 650tx
750i FTW if you decide to SLI (if not)
Vista Home Premium
OCZ ReaperX 4gb Kit
Choose a Case and HD size with Optical Drives depending on Preference |

| Re: $1300-$1400 gaming rig build help Don't get the Asus Rampage Formula, you can easily soft mod a Asus P5E or Asus Maximus Formula into one for a lot cheaper |

| Re: $1300-$1400 gaming rig build help I didn't tell him to change the case because its really sole preference, but the NZXT Tempest is one of my favorite case (Coolermaster 690 is also a good one) |
