| Your opinion on the gaming potential of... Athlon 64 3500+ CPU
GIGABYTE Ga-K8U-939 Motherboard
ATI Radeon 9600XT
1GB PC3200 DDR400 RAM
What kind of newer games could this play, and at approximately what framerates?
What could I change to make it better for gaming?

| Haha. Good one.
I'm not after a super-gaming-rig or anything, simply 'cause I just can't afford it. Just something that can play HL2 and newer games at decent FPS's.

| You serious? I can play Half Life 2 NOW with my Celeron and half a gig of ram, but on low resolution, and medium settings.
I figured a decent CPU and a gig of RAM would make things a whole lot better?

| No way I can afford that... Guess I'll upgrade the CPU and RAM for now, and save up for a new video card afterwards... Is 150 bucks enough for a semi-decent card?

| You don't have to upgrade everything thats just what lotto 649'er reggie_da_man would do. Anyways, the major upgrade i would suggest is to go with a 6600GT over your ATI 9600.
JFY - i just bought a 3.0 GHz cpu on ebay and i'm selling my old socket 478 2.4 Ghz for $75.00 (Canadian) shipping not included .
PM me if your interested.
